2018 Topps Chrome returns in 2018 not needing an introduction. Bringing this year’s Topps flagship design to a chromium-stock card, Topps Chrome adds a flash of color and shiny feel to a trademark look. Each hobby box guarantees 2 autographs per box, with jumbo boxes containing 5 autographs per box.
Topps Chrome brings back many of the same colors of previous years. Colored refractors included this year are the Standard Refractor, Prism, Negative, Sepia, Purple, Blue, Green, Green Wave, Blue Wave, Gold, Gold Wave, Pink, Orange, Red, Red Wave, and the ever popular SuperFractor.
The draw to Topps Chrome, however, is the fan-favorite Chrome Rookie Autograph. Collectors will be able to chase autographs from 72 different rookies. Parallels include Refractor, Purple, Blue, Blue Wave, Green, Gold, Gold Wave, Orange, Red, Red Wave, Printing Plates, and the 1/1 SuperFractor.
Topps debuts a new type of case hit in this year’s Topps Chrome with the Rookie Debut Medallions. Exclusive to hobby and jumbo boxes, these manufactured RC logo relics will only be 1 per case, with parallels including Green, Orange (/25), Red (/5), and the SuperFractor (1/1). There will also be rare autograph versions of these relics.
Hobby Boxes will run you about $100-130, with Jumbo boxes costing around $220-250. If you’re more of a pack person, estimated pack costs are $5 per hobby pack, with jumbo packs costing around $20 per pack.
2018 Topps Chrome returns with little to no change to the product. The product bring excitement, however, as the 2018 rookie class is one to be excited about. With a lower-than-most price tag and the potential for a big card, 2018 Topps Chrome is almost certainly a must-have product for any baseball collector.
